~ Definition of a Foster Child - A child (Boy) raised by someone who is not its natural or adoptive parent.
~ Define Boys from Hard Places - Boys that have experienced some type of abuse, neglect, or trauma during their lives.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
We are a Christ-centered organization that welcomes boys from every walk of life who’ve faced the hard realities of foster care, broken homes, or trauma. We stand firmly on this truth: pain doesn’t discriminate. Trauma doesn’t care about your last name, the color of your skin, or where you grew up. And because of that, our doors — and our campsites — stay wide open.

Diversity for us isn’t a checkbox or a special program. It’s the way HOTF thrives. Every culture, every background, every story matters. When boys step into our world — whether it’s sitting around a fire, hitting the trail, or opening Scripture — they see leaders who look like them, and leaders who show them what’s possible.

Our obsession is heritage. We don’t just take boys outdoors to fish or camp — we help them reclaim a sense of belonging, a place where they can say, “This is who I am, and this is where I fit.”
