Andrew J Martin

For Andrew Martin, The Hearts of the Father Outdoor Expeditions isn't simply an organization he founded. It is a calling he has spent much of his life growing into.

As an adoptee himself, Andrew understands many of the questions boys from foster care and hard places can carry—questions of identity, belonging, worth, and whether their story matters.

That experience developed into a deep conviction: boys need people who will see them, believe in them, challenge them, and keep showing up.

In 2015, Andrew turned that conviction into action, beginning with a tent, a handful of boys, and a willingness to take them outside.

His passion remains simple: create places where boys can experience adventure, faith, challenge, belonging, and trusted relationships without being defined by what happened to them.

Andrew believes God has called him to stand in the gap for boys who can easily be overlooked and to build a community of men and women willing to do the same.

Whether around a campfire, on a trail, beside the water, or behind the scenes building the next opportunity, the calling remains the same:

“The outdoors is simply where God gave me a place to reach boys. The real mission has always been the boy—the one who needs belonging, challenge, truth, encouragement, and somebody willing to stay.”
— Andrew Martin

Gather. Build. Affirm. Honor.
