The vision of The Hearts of the Father Outdoor Expeditions is to become a trusted, sustainable outdoor resource for boys in foster care and boys from hard places.

 

Our long-term strategy is to move beyond individual events and build the infrastructure, partnerships, leadership, and financial stability necessary to provide consistent outdoor experiences year after year.

Our priorities are clear:

• Consistent Programming — A dependable calendar of outdoor experiences including camping, fishing, hiking, outdoor skills, and adventure.

​

• Operational Capacity — Transportation, trailers, equipment, safety resources, training, and systems that allow HOTF to operate responsibly and efficiently.

​

• Strategic Partnerships — Long-term relationships with businesses, landowners, child-welfare organizations, outdoor organizations, and community leaders.

​

• Outdoor Access — Reliable access to land, water, campsites, and eventually a permanent outdoor base capable of supporting the mission.

​

• Organizational Sustainability — Strong governance, financial accountability, measurable outcomes, diversified funding, and leadership capable of carrying HOTF beyond its founder.

The mission of The Hearts of the Father Outdoor Expeditions is to create faith-centered outdoor experiences for boys in foster care and boys from hard places.

 

Through camping, fishing, hiking, outdoor skills, and adventure, we create environments where boys can experience healthy challenge, responsibility, accomplishment, belonging, and trusted relationships.

 

Our mission is built around four foundations:

FAITH — Demonstrating the love of Christ through service, character, consistency, and the way we show up for boys.

​

OUTDOORS — Using outdoor experiences to create opportunities for challenge, learning, responsibility, and accomplishment.

​

RELATIONSHIPS — Surrounding boys with consistent adults who build trust, establish healthy boundaries, and lead by example.

​

TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH — Recognizing that a boy's experiences may influence trust, behavior, relationships, and response to challenge.

​

HOTF does not provide therapy or residential treatment. We work alongside families, caseworkers, churches, and youth-serving professionals by providing a distinct resource:

faith-centered, relationship-driven experiences in the outdoors.

 

We show up. We serve. We lead. We point boys toward Jesus through action. We build strength and resilience in the outdoors that will transfer into real life.
